About Amanda

Who am I?

I am a full-time intercessory missionary at the International House of Prayer, Kansas City. I do the NightWatch, which means my primary hours in the prayer room are between midnight and 6am. I’m in there six nights a week, prayer leading, loving Jesus and interceding for the Lord to break into our region with His power.

IHOP-KC has been holding prayer meetings 24/7/365 since September 19, 1999. For eight years, non-stop prayer and worship has been taking place in Kansas City, with hundreds of intercessors serving around the clock. We are praying and believing for God to bring revival to this region, this nation, and the nations of the earth, asking Him to bring thousands of souls into the Kingdom.  To find out more about IHOP-KC, click here.

Why Night and Day Prayer?

I’m convinced that prayer is the primary, most powerful way we have to impact the nations today. I do believe in evangelism and service (and, in fact, IHOP-KC does have evangelism teams, traveling ministry teams, ministry to the poor, and many other areas of service to the Body), but we need these activities to be thoroughly bathed in prayer. What we need more than anything else in this nation is the power of God. Only He can do what it takes to turn us around.

I remember watching the Hurricane Katrina disaster on the news, seeing scores of people trapped inside of the Astro Dome without any immediate possibility of rescue. It struck me that we humans, with all our wealth, technology, and power, could do nothing to assist those folks trapped inside. One thing, however, would not be deterred by weather,  floodwaters, or rioting — the power of God in prayer. Truly, prayer is the wisest, most effective way to see a change take place in a geographical region.

I believe that prayer is the primary means God has given us to enter into our authority as believers. We can’t “name-it-and-claim-it,” but we can ask a generous God to do what is on His heart to do.  I firmly believe that God wants to partner with His global church and demonstrate His power on the earth. This is my calling — to minister before the Lord and to ask for His kingdom to come and His will to be done.

How can You Help?

As a full-time intercessory missionary, I need to raise support as would any missionary serving in a campus ministry or an overseas position. I am actively looking to build a team of people who want to sow into the prayer movement, in prayer as well as financially. If you would like to give a one-time gift via PayPal, click here.

If you are interested in giving a tax-deductible donation, or if you would like to make a monthly commitment to pray and/or give, simply fill out the contact form below. Also, if you have a prayer request, I would love to pray for you. Fill out the contact form and let me know how I can pray.

Grace be to you,

Amanda Beattie
