I believe it’s either: “Ehn” or “UUUGHRRNNNNN…”

12 Jun

…the first instance being a little, cute grunt noise and the second being a big, vein-popping one.

Just to answer the Google user who found my website searching for “spelling a grunt noise”.

How do you spell the one that Yoshi uses? I imagine it to be something like “Hehhhhnnnnn”, but can’t find an authoritative reference…

Brian, I think you left out the “g”. Shouldn’t it be “Heghhhhnnnnn”?

You’re probably right. It wouldn’t be the first time I meant “Heg” and said “Heh”

No, wait a minute. Heg ???

I’ll bet that would be the first time I made *that* mistake…

Isn’t heg more of a barfy sound?

Brian, if I had spelled it “hegnnnnn” you would be right. However, I spelled it “heGHhhhhhhnnnnn”. Like in thought, or through, or dough….
