So I was browsing through David Sliker’s blog (yes, I can call it that now; apparently he’s reconciling to the term “blog” a little). I was looking through the archives for something specific, and in my search, this statement leapt out of my screen and slapped me in the face:
Often, when you are capable or gifted, it just seems easier to go it alone. While we may hate loneliness, we love to isolate ourselves into a self-preserving effectiveness that enables us to continue to champion our own cause.
Ouch. And amen. And stop reading my mail… I mean, go on, brother. Speak the truth.
To quote another IHOP-KC leader, Hal Lindhart, “Put that in your theological pipe and smoke it.”
